Waste Management

The College manages all kinds of waste with environmental impact as the first concern, getting the most value from it before final disposal. Because the types of waste vary, the College defines each type so that everyone handles it the same way, as follows

  • Liquid Waste (Used Wastewater)

Treated at the wastewater treatment plant, filtered, and disinfected with an appropriate dose of chlorine before reuse, with no harm to aquatic animals, water plants, trees or grass. The water is never released into the community or natural water sources: it is held in ponds on campus and reused in the grounds all year round.

  • Solid Waste (Paper, Plastic Bottles, General Waste)

    1. No. 1 Paper — sorted and sent for shredding/recycling at the SCG paper mill in Ban Pong District; paper use is cut with online forms, email, LINE and Facebook; offices reuse paper; and single-use paper and plastic cups have been dropped
    2. No. 2 Plastic bottles — sorted for recycling and sale
    3. No. 3 General waste — waste that cannot be recycled or sold is collected by the local Subdistrict Administrative Organization
  • Leaves and Branches

Gardeners leave them at a designated spot to decompose naturally, avoiding burning to reduce air pollution

  • Scrap Materials and Equipment

The electrical and maintenance team salvages parts from broken equipment to repair or adapt other items so they can be used again, reducing purchases of consumables, and sorts items before disposal or sale

The College campaigns through every communication channel to fight global warming by cutting plastic bags and single-use items, for example by using cloth bags, personal cups and personal food containers
